Getting started with medical cannabis through JOY is simple and straightforward. In just 4 easy steps, you’ll have legal access to your prescribed treatment.

1. Onboarding

Complete your onboarding form by filling in your details and medical history through our secure app. This helps us assess your eligibility and ensures a smooth application process.

2. Consultation

Once onboarded, you’ll receive a link to book a consultation with a licensed doctor. During this session, your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual needs.

3. Approval

Your application is then submitted to SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) for review. Our team ensures that all documentation is correct to fast-track your approval.

4. Access

After approval, you’ll receive your Medical Cannabis Patient Card. This card gives you legal access to collect prescribed medical cannabis at JOY Medical Cannabis.

Fast & Convenient – Order anytime between 9 AM and 15 PM and receive your medical cannabis the same day.

Cut-off Time – Orders placed after 3 PM will be delivered the following day.

Verified Patients Only – Delivery is available exclusively to approved medical cannabis patients with a valid patient card.

Safe & Discreet – All packages are handled securely and delivered with full respect for your privacy.

Coverage – We currently deliver only to areas classified as low-risk based on Cape Town’s official safety and risk guidelines. Delivery availability will be shown at checkout.

1. How do I sign up as a patient?

You can register directly on our website or in-store. Our team will guide you through the onboarding process with Synergy Wellness Network.

2. What happens after I sign up?

Once you’ve submitted your details, you’ll have a consultation with a licensed doctor. Your application is then sent to SAHPRA for approval.

3. How do I collect my medication?

After approval, you’ll receive a Medical Cannabis Patient Card. Bring your card and ID to JOY to collect your prescription — or have it delivered the same day.

4. Can I consume cannabis at JOY?

No. JOY is a collection-only store. Patients cannot consume or smoke on-site.

5. Do you offer delivery?

Yes. JOY offers same-day delivery for approved patients, making access to your medication fast and convenient.

6. Can non-patients shop at JOY?

Yes, some products like edibles and wellness items are available to all customers. However, flowers and prescribed cannabis products require patient registration and SAHPRA approval.
